Petition
Adjust the access to South Terrace so that all traffic enters from one end only. Traffic can either exit the same entrance or continue on through a one way system from terrace property 53 (on RHS) and flats 44/46/48 (on LHS)
Background information
With the recent application for more properties on South Terrace the issue surrounding traffic access has always been apparent as the original South Terrace road (by the railway) is substantially wider than the part of South Terrace outside the terrace houses. With more traffic wishing to access the new development I propose that up to properties 47/49/51 and 38/40/42 there is two-way access but after these properties it is a single file through road only. This will define the entrance to South Terrace and also ease the flow as vehicles parked on South Terrace will not bump head on into traffic coming from the narrower end of South Terrace. I propose that the second half of South Terrace be made level with regards to the paths and road so that it is more pedestrian friendly and allows vehicles to park more effectively without blocking ambulances, fire engines and large delivery goods. With a restricted 10mph limit it would also make the road much safer for pedestrians using the road to access the alleyway to the train station.
